Welcome to Canadian Compliance Institute (the “Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website located at www.canadiancomplianceinstitute.com (the “Site”), our online courses, training programs, digital content, materials, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing, browsing, registering for, enrolling in, or using the Services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence (usually 19 in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Yukon; 18 elsewhere in Canada) to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Accounts and Registration

To access certain Services (e.g., paid courses), you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
  • Maintain the security of your password and account;
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these Terms.

3. Courses and Access

  • Upon successful enrollment and payment (where applicable), we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the enrolled course(s) solely for your personal, non-commercial use during the access period specified at purchase.
  • Access periods vary by course (e.g., 12 months, lifetime access for select programs — check the course description).
  • We may update, modify, or discontinue courses at any time without liability.

4. Payments and Fees

  • All fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices exclude applicable taxes (GST/HST, PST, QST, etc.).
  • Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment via our accepted payment methods.
  • No refunds are provided except as expressly stated in our Refund Policy (below or on the course page).
  • You are responsible for any additional charges (e.g., currency conversion fees, bank fees).

5. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase only if you have not accessed more than 20% of the course content. Requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
  • No refunds after the access period expires or for partial completion.
  • We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of suspected abuse.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform (videos, text, graphics, quizzes, downloadable materials, software, logos, etc.) is owned by Canadian Compliance Institute or our licensors and protected by Canadian copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Download, copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display/perform, or republish any content without our express written permission;
  • Use any content for commercial purposes;
  • Share your account login or course access with others.

Violation may result in immediate termination of access and legal action.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the Site;
  • Post or transmit spam, advertising, or promotional material.

8. Third-Party Links and Resources

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. Your use of them is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or completeness.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canadian Compliance Institute, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities) arising from your use of or inability to use the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Canadian Compliance Institute and its affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [e.g., Ontario] and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in [e.g., Toronto, Ontario], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
